Offshore Fishing out of Boynton Beach in the Fall: Mullet Run, Kings and Mahi

Every fall the mullet run comes down the Palm Beach County coast: miles of bait along the beach and out through the Boynton Inlet, with kingfish, sharks, tarpon, jacks and snook feeding on it. Then the first fronts arrive, the water cools a little, and the offshore fishing swings toward kingfish, blackfin tuna and the early sailfish along the edge.
Mahi are still around offshore on the weed lines and current edges, and the bottom holds up all year: mutton snapper, yellowtail and grouper on the reef and the wrecks in 60 to 200 feet. Because the Gulf Stream sits so close here, a half day gets you to all of it.
Trips that fit the season: the Half Day Offshore ($540) and 3/4 Day Offshore ($720) for a mix of trolling and bottom fishing, the Full Day Offshore ($950) when you want to cover more water, and the shark trips when the bait is thick along the beach. All trips are private, up to six guests, out of Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park in Boynton Beach.
Capt. Nate posts what the boat is seeing here as the season moves. If you have a date in mind, the booking page shows what is open, and a deposit holds it.
